With great data comes great responsibility.
We recognize that data is a storytelling tool. It has bias. Methodologies matter. Context matters. We commit to deeper understanding over convenient storylines.
We answer to the community.
We believe a more informed public is possible without over-surveillance. Privacy and security can and should be prioritized, while also making data accessible and open-source. We commit to always working in partnership with communities, deferring to locals as the experts, and creating a collaborative, accessible, and non-prescriptive environment.
Climate (justice) is an emergency.
We target high-impact projects that will be sustainable and just to frontline communities, who are often the first to experience the impacts of climate change. We are optimizing for holistic outcomes that can be seen in months, not decades.
